A pattern where colored stripes alternate with white, producing white, lightly colored and dark squares where the stripes overlap. Commonly used in dresses and tablecloths. The Kobeya uniform is notable for incorporating a gingham apron.
Not to be confused with plaid which uses varying widths and/or multiple colors.
