toon (style)

カートゥーン

Artwork in the style of typical Western animation and comics. This includes styles based on classic Disney or Warner Bros cartoons, modern cartoons such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, or South Park, as well as styles from superhero, newspaper, or indie/underground comics.

While there are some Japanese characters that resemble toons, such as the casts of Sazae-san and Anpanman, they do not count under this tag by default.

This tag is meant for characters who are drawn in the style of cartoons, not for pictures of a character who merely originated from one.

Substyles

  • 1930s (style) - Commonly referred to as "Inkblot" or "Rubberhose"
  • western comics - Characters drawn in the style of American superhero comics; also known as "Amecomi"
