rickenbacker 330

A semi-hollow electric guitar released by American maker Rickenbacker in 1958 as part of the "300" series of guitars, which is one of their best known lines of instruments. It reached success and frequent use in a wide range of musical genres, anywhere from folk and alternative to new wave and everything in-betweem.

It is easily recognizable by its round shape, rather symmetrical cutaways, R-shaped tailpiece, simple edgy sound hole and five control kobs on post-1961 models.

Visually separate versions of the 330 include:

  • 335S, containing a vibrato tailpiece and an F-shaped sound hole.
  • 1998PT, a special 330 with an F-shaped sound hole and a triple pickup combination (similar to its older sibling the Rickenbacker 325).
  • More regular-looking models with the aforementioned F-shaped hole.
