princess peach
Princess Peach is the lead female character of the Mario series. As the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, she frequently plays a damsel in distress role in the series, being kidnapped by Bowser only to be later rescued by Mario.
She was originally known as Princess Toadstool outside of Japan until 1993, when the name "Peach" appeared in the game Yoshi's Safari. 1997's Mario Kart 64 was the first game to primarily use "Peach".
