kneeling
Resting on the lower legs (rather than on butt or feet) while bent at the knees. In other words, knees on the ground, butt off the ground. Please note this tag requires both knees to be on the ground, for kneeling on one knee, see on one knee.
Not to be confused with: squatting. For sitting with butt resting on or between ankles, see respectively seiza or wariza.
