Large, persistent masses of ice that has formed on land over many years or centuries and is constantly moving under its own weight. The largest glaciers can span entire continents and are called continental glaciers or ice sheets, such as the one that covers the entirety of Antarctica.
Icebergs are pieces of glaciers that have broken off into the sea and float freely.
