friedrich der grosse (azur lane)

フリードリヒ・デア・グローセ(アズールレーン) Friedrich_der_Große 腓特烈大帝

A personification of one of the "H"-class proposals, specifically the H39 project developed by the Kriegsmarine, added as part of a collaboration between Azur Lane and World of Warships.
Character design by Enka (bcat), voiced by Nabatame Hitomi.

Appearance and personality

Friedrich der Große is portrayed as a mature woman with long black hair, red mechanical horns and yellow eyes, who fancies herself an orchestra conductor. She sees the Commander and others as children, gently chiding them and being generally caring, unlike Roon.

History

The H-class proposals were a series of battleship designs meant to succeed Bismarck and significantly improve the Kriegsmarine's fighting capacity against the Royal Navy and Marine Nationale. Wartime materials shortages and the infrequent operations of Kriegsmarine following the sinking of Bismarck prevented further development of the designs.
The ships were also left unnamed, with Ulrich von Hutten being the closest to an actual name as attested by documented unofficial talks in the German Naval High Command.
