Captain America, real name Steve Rogers, used to be a skinny, short soldier who was given a serum during World War II that bestowed him with super human physical abilities above the peak of human potential. He is easily identified by his red-white-and-blue superhero costume and similarly designed circular shield which is made of Vibranium, a fictional metal that is rare and can reflect any and all attacks.
He is one of the most recognized members of The Avengers.
