Aqua Marine is a Touhou OC who is a selkie. She appears with the upper half of a human and the lower half of a seal, but also sometimes in an appearance of a normal human. She loves to sing with other mermaids, selkies and other beings from the same group.

Name
Aqua Marine is just based on the jewel the aquamarine, separated in the really existing names Aqua and Marine.

Personality
Very kind and has a hobby for singing, especially singing with other selkies, mermaids, sirens, rusalkas and more. She is always curious about meeting new people and talking a little bit with them. But sometimes she changes her form, so she changes the seal tail into human legs to wander around. Aqua protects her home, the Mermaid Lake, if it gets attacked, but sometimes she also goes out into the forests for a little hunt with her club. But she actually avoids battles as good as possible and just fights and hunts if necessary. Aqua is also know for having a curious and slightly shy nature.

Home
Aqua Marine calls the Mermaid Lake her home. Mermaid Lake is a part of a Gensokyo that isn't Gensokyo how we know. One day there were two different Gensokyo who has different places and people. But one day both Gensokyo got merged and turned after so many years again into one what turned Gensokyo into Dai Gensokyo. Mermaid Lake isn't just Aqua's home, but also the realm from the nature spirit Undine, nature spirit of water and princess of all beings they belongs to the group of the mermaids. Mermaids, rusalkas, selkies, sirens and more such beings calling Mermaid Lake as their home.

Duties
Most of the time is Aqua Marine busy with singing, talking and meeting new people. But sometimes if necessary she protects Mermaid Lake and hunts for food.

Origin
Selkies are part of the family of the mermaids and find their origin in Scotland. They are known for their beauty and voice for singing. Their appearance is different, sometimes shown with the head and arms of a woman, while the torso and lower body are parts of a seal. Sometimes selkies are also shown with the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a seal with a similar design of a normal mermaid. When selkies leave the sea, they will turn completely into the appearance of a normal human woman and using the fur from their seal part as clothes.

Aqua Marine the selkie is a little bit inspired from the selkies in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
