The wimple consists of a large piece of cloth draped across the top and sides of the head, neck and chin. This head-covering is usually worn to conceal the hair and other parts of the head for modesty purposes. Roman-Catholic nuns and religious sisters still retain the wimple as part of their distinctive headdress.

Avoid tagging wimple if it does not adequately cover the top, sides and back of the head. Sidelocks should generally not be visible.
Do not automatically tag wimple just because a nun is wearing her habit.
Most anime-style artwork do not depict the habit 'properly'. The overall headdress is often depicted as a hat-like headwear, with the 'wimple' becoming the 'inside brim' of such a hat. These examples do not count as wimples.
