    タシュケント タシュケント(アズールレーン) 塔什干

Azur Lane's personification of the one-off Soviet large destroyer Tashkent.
    Character design by Kincora.

    Appearance

    See post #3801573.

She is portrayed with long purple hair and blue eyes.

Her default outfit consists of heavy winter clothes: a long-sleeved white duffel coat with fur trim, earmuffs, light brown sweater dress underneath, and white thigh boots.

Her rigging consists of two 130 mm twin gun mounts and 533 mm triple torpedo tubes.

    History

The Tashkent-class of destroyers consisted of a single destroyer leader, built in Italy for the Soviet navy just before World War II. Three other ships were ordered but canceled before construction. The class is named after Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, under Soviet rule at that time.

Ultimately, the Soviets found out that it was impossible to adapt Italian shipbuilding practices with the comparatively inferior state of Soviet shipbuilding, so Kiev was designed as a cheaper version of Tashkent but carrying the same armament.

One of her in-game skills is named The Blue Cruiser, a reference to how she was delivered to the Soviets in the Regia Marina's interwar paint scheme of bluish-gray overall.

    Trivia

The real-life destroyer Tashkent had a top speed of 43 knots (42 knots with armaments), technically making her faster than Shimakaze (top speed 40.9 knots in trials) but slower than the French destroyer Le Terrible (45 knots in trials).
