Shigure (時雨 "Late Rain")
Shigure is the second Shiratsuyu-class destroyer in Kantai Collection.
Character design by Kujou Ichiso, voiced by Tanibe Yumi.
Appearance
In-game, Shigure wears a black serafuku shared with the first four ship girls of her class. She has medium-length dark brown to black hair with an ahoge in a braid over her shoulder as well as blue eyes.
Seasonals
Her Christmas portrait for her second remodel gives her a santa hat, Yuudachi's scarf and a sack. Her damage portrait reveals some of the contents of her sack: a Yuudachi-like creature and one of Yuudachi's torpedos.
She is often compared to a Guncannon or a Blastoise due to her rigging being a twin cannon, with the barrels over her shoulders; much to her chagrin. However, for her Second Remodel, she can split her rigging in half and be used as larger individual guns (although so far the only "official" examples of her using her guns thus are the Weiß Schwarz card of her second remodeled form[1] and the Good Smile figurine based on the illustration on said card[2]).
The hairflaps on the sides of her head and the neck piece she wears are near duplicates of those on Yuudachi, which became the standard defining mark for all Shiratsuyu-class remodel forms. The hair flaps also look much like a dog's floppy ears, and because of this she is (and Yuudachi too) often given doggish mannerisms, despite her in-game personality having no doggish mannerisms.

Personality
Because of her quiet tone of voice, somewhat sad eyes, extreme fondness when referring to Fusou and Yamashiro, and provoking taunts when damaged, there's a fan theory floating around the internet that believes Shigure suffers from PTSD from being the sole survivor of the Nishimura Fleet after the Battle of Surigao Strait.
On the less dramatic and serious side of the internet, 4chan insists that Shigure is actually a trap due to her sometimes using masculine vocabulary like "boku" and has renamed her, err, him, to "Shigurin." The meme picked up traction and trap/genderswapped Shigure is known as 時雨くん on pixiv.
She is slated to be the protagonist of the second anime adaptation, based around the Nishimura Fleet.
