    幻日のヨハネ yohane

    Official Website

In English, Yohane the Parhelion. Also subtitled Sunshine in the Mirror, it is a Love Live! Sunshine!! fantasy spin-off with an anime that debuted in 2023.

The first mention of an anime was as an April Fool's 2022 joke on the official Love Live! YouTube channel (the original has since been deleted from the official channel, but not before being translated). On June 26, 2022, a separate dedicated twitter account as well as a live announcement at an Aqours live confirmed that the spin-off was in the works.

The series casts Aqours in a completely new setting, set in a fantasy world version in the land of "Numazu", named after the Shizuoka Prefecture city and its surroundings (including Uchiura) that Sunshine!! is set in, and stars Tsushima Yoshiko as Yohane (Yoshiko's preferred fallen angel name). It tells "the story that no one knows about a girl that everyone knows," where she journeys and meets fantasy versions of other characters.

In June 2023, Blaze in the Deepblue, a 2D action platform video game for the series in the vein of Metroid and Castlevania, was announced after it itself was an April Fool's joke in 2023. Developed by Inti Creates, it is the first Love Live! console game and is set to release in November for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, XBox One and Series X|S and Steam.
