Kaede is optimistic and proactive, acting as a leader figure among the students and hoping to cooperate with them to stop the killing game.
Kaede wanted to end the killing game by catching the mastermind. Taking advantage of a plan suggested by Saihara Shuuichi to catch the mastermind, she secretly sets up a deadly trap in the library. However, this accidently ends up causing the death of Amami Rantarou.
