If the image would be rated anything else than General, use the loli or shota tags as appropriate (which are mutually exclusive with this tag). Exception to this is if the rating is Sensitive due to blood, then child tag can still be used as long as there are no skimpy clothing or otherwise Sensitive-rating material.
Not to be confused with aged down, which is for when a character is portrayed as younger than their usual age.
