Original Commentary

Nakajima Saori (中島早織), Lofi Girl

Music reproduction exists in Saori's homeland, but it is generally uncommon; purpose-built recordings on discs of hard resin ("records") have existed a millennia, but are mostly relegated to dictation purposes or sending communiques. Enjoying music is reliant on formally trained musicians, the same as any other artisan. In the Kanto region, there's an abundance of excellent, decades-old portable music reproduction, and one of Saori's classmates bought her "retro" headphones and a portable playing device; but with no prior experience with either technology, it was largely a mystery to her.

"The audio quality is quite excellent, but I can barely fit my ears into the cups. And if I don't do that, won't the sound leak out?"

[Author's Note: I find the visual design of the classic 'Lofi Girl', inspired by Tsukishima Shizuku from 'Whispers of the Heart' (Mimi o Sumaseba) to be quite elegant and endearing, but making one of your own, even with LoRA assistance, is quite challenging. I'd like to do this for all the girls if it's popular enough.]
